About Us

MC LAX INC is a 501c3 non-profit organization that operates as the "Wausau Wolfpack." The organization is governed by a board of directors and has three separate branches - supporting the Youth Lacrosse Program, the High School Girl's Wolfpack Co-op Booster Club and the High School Boy's Wolfpack Booster Club. Board meetings are currently held on the 1st Wednesday of each month at 6pm and are open to the public. (We welcome more involvement, if interested) Meetings are hosted either virtually or at the Greenheck Turner Community Center in one of their community rooms.

The Wolfpack Board's goals are to get a lacrosse stick in as many kids hands as possible - and to give our local youth the opportunity to learn the sport of lacrosse, develop both skills and lifelong values, and acquire a sense of pride in their accomplishments. We seek to create a lacrosse program that supports the athletic and character growth of each player and advances the understanding of and love for lacrosse in Central Wisconsin. We wish to develop the Skills, Athleticism and Game Sense to compete in Elite Levels in the State.

MC Lax Wolfpack is guided by Core Values (include a link to another page highlighting our Core Values - see below) that inform all we do. Our program seeks not just to develop the lacrosse skills and enjoyment of every player, but also character traits that will benefit each of them on and off the field now and in the future.  The Wolfpack Lacrosse Organization pledges to run this organization in a manner that honors the rich and significant history while developing our youth to be upstanding representatives of the Wausau Area.

Our BIG HAIRY AUDACIOUS GOAL is to grow this program so that we can graduate ten 8th graders each year into our local high schools so that they can sustain robust Boy's & Girl's programs right here in Central Wisconsin.

The Board accomplishes this through a set of sub-committees that are focused on satisfying the needs of our constituents (our players and parents). The sub-committees focus on Equipment & Facility needs, Coaching & Player Development, Communications & Recruiting/Marketing, Tournament Organization and Fundraising.

Finances are managed by the treasurer - and audited/overseen by the President and Vice-President. We seek to maintain a strong cash balance with some rainy-day protections for those years that may require more expenses. But, aim to operate each year break even, or slightly ahead to plan for growth. In 2025, the program grew participation by 18% over the prior year. We want to ensure that we are properly funded to support our growth.

It costs the club roughly $40,000 to operate annually. We bring dollars in to the organization via:

  • Fundraising & Donations
  • User Registration & Gear Rental Fees
  • Hosted Clinic Fees
  • Tournament Fees

Those dollars are used for:

  • Equipment (Balls, Nets, Jerseys, Gear)
  • Rent (Fields, Facilities, Outhouses)
  • Referee Fees
  • Tournament Fees for away games
  • Dues (USLacrosse, Insurance, Crossbar, Bay Valley Lacrosse Association & the Wisconsin Lacrosse Foundation)
  • Clinicians and we pay for some coaches (non-parents) to ensure that our child-to-coach ratio is appropriate.

We have ongoing financial needs to continue to grow the sport for things like hosting more professional lacrosse clinics, as well as supporting coaching development opportunities. We are looking for people to support and assist in our fundraising efforts.

Core Values:

The following core values will guide MC Lax Wolfpack in programming and play, now and in the future. MC Lax Wolfpack believes its programs have the potential to develop not only lacrosse skills but, more importantly, character values that will benefit today’s players in later years and other endeavors. It’s not just about lacrosse.

  • SPORTSMANSHIP - Foremost of all values is to learn a sense of fair play. We will not gloat in victory, and we will be gracious in defeat. We will promote friendship with teammates and opponents alike, and we will respect officials.
  • RESPECT FOR THE INDIVIDUAL - We will treat all others and all players as we would want to be treated and as we would want our children to be treated.
  • INTEGRITY - We seek to foster honesty and fair play in accordance with the rules of the game.
  • EFFORT - Each member of MC Lax Wolfpack, whether player, parent or volunteer staff should try to do his or her best. We recognize that young athletes develop at different rates and stages, and not everyone may have the same ability in any given age group, but everyone can try to perform to the best of his or her ability. While we recognize all have busy lives, we expect our players and coaches to make their lacrosse teams a priority. We also seek for every participant to give their best effort in all they do. We seek Trained Coaches so that we can continue the development of our youth.
  • ENJOYMENT - We want the lacrosse experience to be fun, satisfying and rewarding for all participants. We want each child, at the end of every season, to look forward to playing lacrosse again the following year.
  • TEAMWORK - We value the strength of learning to work together. Teamwork is reinforced and rewarded by success in the lacrosse experience. We will not value individual exploits over team success and we will promote trust in teammates over selfish play. The contributions of every player in our program matters regardless of skill level. We value the impact each player has and recognize that everyone has something to offer. Each player and coach takes responsibility for building solid relationships with all teammates. Lacrosse, like life, is about caring for and working with others and making those around us better.
  • LOYALTY - We are loyal to teammates and to other parents because we understand that teamwork and overall success cannot be achieved without mutual appreciation and a desire for all players to do well and enjoy success.
